3 Essential Elements to Writing a Great Blog Post

3 Mins read

Oftentimes, writing can feel like a pretty overwhelming task. It doesn’t matter how much you like to write or for how long you have been doing it; every writer has to face something called a writer’s block. During this time, he is unable to find the right words to express his feelings or find the motivation to turn his thoughts into actions. You sit down to write, and the words simply don’t come to you. You wake up in the morning with your laptop or your writing pad in front of you, and you can’t begin to solve how to start your article. At times like these, a little structure or writing manual can help you get back on the right path. After all, you can only get the motivation to do what you do best from the words of other people.

Over the years that I have been blogging as well as providing guest blogging services to my clients, I have had these rough patches just like everyone else, and due to the experience, I have learned a few tips and tricks that have helped me get through these times. I have made a habit of reading stuff, studying prolific and influential bloggers, and realized that they all follow a certain pattern in their writings. If you want to be considered the best of the best, you also need to set a norm for your blog so that whenever people set eyes upon it, they immediately see the face behind the words. While each person has a different set of rituals, here are x elements that I think are essential when it comes to writing a great blog post.

An Attention-Grabbing Headline

First and foremost, you need to make sure that your blog is centered on a certain topic instead of a whirlwind consisting of several ideas floating around randomly. Before you start writing your blog, you need to find out what you are writing out. The best way to write a good topic is by choosing a topic that you hold close to your heart. It can be anything that you find important to talk about.

With your experience with that subject, you will be able to connect with your audience, and they will be able to understand what you are trying to say. Being a blogger is not about earning a name for yourself; it is more about making a difference. For this exact reason, many writers opt to go for anonymous blogger platforms like the Doe, where they can freely write about anything they want to without putting their identity at risk. By sharing stories with the readers, they can get it out of their own system, meanwhile giving other people the strength that they are not the only ones in the world.

A Captivating Lead Paragraph

We have all heard the common phrase that the first impression is the last impression. Well, this is extremely true in the world of blogging as people don’t have the time to read anything they are not interested in. Due to this reason, your first paragraph needs to be a place where all the magic happens. You need to get your readers hooked by putting all your effort into writing the first paragraph so that they develop interest and keep on reading until the last word. To do that, you can start off with a famous quote, a question, or simply a bold and audacious statement that is going to make the reader stay.

A Compelling Call-To-Action

The digital world is a bit different from the rest of the world. In order to make sure that you are doing better than the rest, you need to use different ways to make sure that the reader will come back to your blog or website. Now that you have got your readers hooked on your article, you need to wrap it all up and make sure it sticks together. Don’t be vague with your closing remarks and make sure that you come up with something that sparks a question in the minds of your readers or makes them reflect on what they have read.

It will make them respond to you, which is going to be very beneficial for you to grow. You can also ask your readers to answer a question, leave a comment, or share your post within their circle so that you can get recognition. All these little things will help you find the right kind of pace so that you can make a name for yourself.
