1. Organic Traffic

One of the reasons to do SEO is to increase traffic or visitors to your website. Organic traffic is the type of internet traffic that you don’t pay for or don’t ask for. Essentially, organic traffic is when your website visitors find you through search engines.

Checking your organic traffic will give you an idea of how many visitors your website receive on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Through this you would be able to tell if your SEO strategies are working or not.

2. Click Through Rate (CTR)

Your click through rate is the metric that indicates the percentage of searchers that visit your website. This metric contributes to organic traffic. You see, it is not enough that your site page appears on search results – what matters is that people should click on the page and visit your website. This particular metric determines the quality of your site’s title tags and meta descriptions – after all these are the things that convinces a searcher to click on your website’s page. If your click through rate is low, that means you have to work some more on your title tags and meta descriptions.

3. Keyword Ranking

Keyword ranking also directly affects your website’s visibility on search results. Keyword optimization is essential for your website’s visibility and you should always try to improve your site’s rankings for keywords that are important to your business. If you’re a marketer or an online vendor, you should understand this particular metric could mean the difference between success and failure. To evaluate your website’s keyword performance, you can do a simple Google search for the keywords or open an organic search positions report.

4. Backlinks to Your Site

Tracking your site’s backlinks is very important. Tracking the number of backlinks to your site gives you a feel of how good and valuable your content is. So if you notice a lot of backlinks to your site, then it means you have good content and your SEO strategies are performing nicely. However, if you really want to have a good measure of how your site is performing, then you should compare the amount of backlinks you’re getting to the ones your competitors are getting.

5. Bounce Rate

Your site’s bounce rate is an indicator of your website’s page quality. When your site’s page appears on search results, it is because Google thinks your site has the content the searcher is looking for. But if the searcher leaves your site without proceeding to another page, then that is called bouncing. The act of leaving a website moments after visiting and without checking out other pages tells Google that your website does not have quality content or it simply does not have the content the searcher needs.

So if your bounce rate is high, then you need to do something about your page and content quality. Bounce rate might also be a result of low page speed. But if your bounce rate is low then you have nothing to worry about.
