For example, it’s harder to manage employees who are not working full-time or exclusively with your company due to the lack of oversight and communication over time spent working on projects together versus separately (even if the work is done remotely). 

Additionally, it can be harder to ensure that gig economy workers meet your company’s standards and expectations.

 HR managers will need to find new ways to communicate with and manage freelancers to overcome these challenges. This may mean using online tools like Slack or Asana to keep track of projects and deadlines, or it may mean using phone calls instead of email when possible.

To accomplish this, you must establish an environment in which employees feel valued and respected.
